These are my thoughts when I look at The Warrior palette. Golden deliciousness. I can’t even begin to imagine how gorgeous this must look on those of you with medium to deep skin tones but even I can rock this colour scheme on my fair and freckled face. The Warrior is seriously lush and if you love golden tones I really do think you will love this.
This is certainly a neutral palette but amped up, with the potential to be super glam. There are three mattes, which may seem like an issue if you prefer mattes to shimmers BUT The Warrior II is the all matte baby sister that pairs with this palette perfectly, if mattes are your thing. Saying that, I have found that the three mattes provided here are just what I need for any look. Kano is quite warm toned and Mino is more neutral. Both are buildable colours and are super easy to work with. Ahosi is a pretty basic cream highlighting type shade – handy but as I keep a cream single shadow on my vanity for that purpose I would actually have preferred for there to be a different coloured matte in its place (perhaps a mustard yellow?).
The shimmers here are really stunning. Like REALLY delicious. If you apply these with a dry brush they look lovely. If you apply these with your finger or a wet brush they look STUNNING. We are taking liquid metal. Idia is quite possibly the most spectacular pressed shadow I have ever worn. It is so pigmented, so reflective, so metallic and it LASTS without fading and I didn’t get any fallout.
Despite the palette colour story seeming extremely warm toned at first glance, you can actually get quite a neutral-toned look from this palette if you want. Amina, Mino, Moremi, and Benin are more neutral toned. Benin is actually extremely stunning and very wearable – it is my most used lid shade from this palette.
Overall, I really enjoy this palette. I’m not suggesting the tones here are somehow revolutionary because I know they aren’t. If you have a bigger collection of eyeshadow you most certainly have something similar to these colours in your makeup bag right now but the formula of Juvia’s Place really is special and if you are looking for a palette that will make you look like a golden goddess well – The Warrior is your girl.
The Warrior retails for USD20 but Juvia’s Place has regular sales which bring the price down even further. You can also use the code ANGELICA for a further 10% off. This is an affiliated code for youtuber Angelica Nyqvist who is the fabulous woman who got me onto Juvia’s Place and for that I am very happy to support her by using her code. (plus – it will save you some money too!). If you aren’t following Angelica you should certainly look her up as her makeup looks are inspiring and she is so much fun to watch.
Juvia’s Place is most well known for colourful palettes so if you are a neutral lover this might just be your chance to try these shadows for yourself. And if, like me, you love colour and neutrals do yourself a favour and check out Juvia’s Place.
Have a wonderful day!
