I’m going to be straight up honest here.
I purchased this product purely out of curiosity. I couldn’t help it. I just wanted to see what a baked, matte highlighter was all about so I picked it up.
Although this product is white with cream marbling in the pan, when swatched it is pretty much stark white. The powder itself feels quite dry, it is a baked product after all, but oh my goodness, it is so finely milled. You can swirl you brush in here and pick up a good amount of the powder but it doesn’t seem to get too cakey on the face.
As I said earlier, I don’t typically highlight with matte products so I wasn’t sure how much use I would get out of this but I do enjoy this product under the eyes to set my concealer. I also use it liberally to highlight the high points of my face and it is nicely brightening for a very natural look or as a base for more shimmery highlight powders.
Now, keep in mind my skin is very fair. Would this work for medium or dark skin tones? I doubt it. I actually imagine this would look very ashy on darker skin than mine, but correct me if I am wrong. If you have extremely pale skin you could probably use this as a setting powder!
So there you go.
If you are interested in trying out a matte highlighting powder, this one is really nice. I won’t say that this is a product that is completely life changing, but I am glad I gave it a go and for about AU$5 it is nice to try something a bit different. You may find you already have perfectly good matte highlighters in your contouring palettes so this may not be a ‘must have’ product for you.
If you would like to give this matte highlight a go you can find it on the TAM Beauty website and they ship internationally.
Have a wonderful day!
