Vanessa Megan: Rose Water Spray (Toner)

The Rose Water Toner from Vanessa Megan is a real luxury.  The ingredients of this Rose Water Toner are certified organic, cruelty-free and Vegan friendly!  It comes in a lovely glass bottle with a fine mist spray nozzle.  The product itself is moisturising and a lovely way to tone the skin after exfoliation and/or cleansing.  I also very much appreciate this spray in the summer months to refresh my skin on hot, humid days.

Vanessa Megan: Rose Water Toner

The scent of this product is a pure rose smell.  Genuinely, this is like spraying crushed rose petals on your face.  I have read that the product is actually produced using Bulgarian organic roses so… there you go!

I received this toner in a seasonal beauty box from Flora &  Fauna, but I would certainly purchase it again in the future.  I don’t consider this product ‘budget-friendly’ as it retails for AU$29.95 but I have been using it daily for MONTHS so I think you do get your money’s worth from this 100ml bottle.

This is a beautiful product and if you are looking to treat yourself, I can definitely recommend it.

Have a great day!

Flora & Fauna: Summer Beauty Box

It is the most exciting time of the new season – my Flora & Fauna beauty box arrived for summer!

Flora & Fauna: Summer Beauty Box

Flora & Fauna: Summer Beauty Box

This post is going to be an ‘unboxing’ rather than a review as I have literally just opened the box and taken photos so I am yet to try these products.  So if you are interested to see what I got in my Summer Flora & Fauna beauty box then read on 🙂

Eco Tan Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub

Eco Tan Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub

The first product that I pulled out of the box is this Eco Tan, Pink Himalayan Salt Scrub.  The info card states that this is an intensely exfoliating scrub that can be used on both the body and the face.

Grants Aloe Vera Crystal Deodorant.

Grants Aloe Vera Crystal Deodorant.

The next product is this Aloe Vera Crystal Deodorant.  I have never seen a product like this before and I look forward to trying out this deodorant alternative which states that it is composed of natural minerals, which help control body odour… we shall see.

Dr Hauschka Lemon Lemongrass Body Wash

Dr Hauschka Lemon Lemongrass Body Wash

This cute little guy is a Lemon, Lemongrass body wash.  I very much enjoy lemon scents so I am looking forward to trying this out.  Plus it is super tiny and I am all about miniature things 🙂

AWE Rasadana Hydrating Mask.

AWE Rasadana Hydrating Mask.

The next item is the AWE Rasadana Hydrating Mask.  This is a generous sample with a pump, which I appreciate.  The full size version is 50ml and retails for $59 which makes it a luxury product in my book so I am excited to try this mask out.

Atom Coffee Body Scrub.

This is another great cruelty-free, vegan product that I am keen to try.  I am going to try a fake tan for the first time this summer so I am excited to have some good exfoliators to use in preparation.

Dr Bronner’s 18-in-1 citrus orange pure Castille Soap.

Again, another cute little sample of Dr Bronner.  I have never heard of this soap but I’m interested to try a product that claims to be good for ‘just about any cleaning task.’  It appears you can use this all over the body as well as around the house – interesting!

Zuii Organic coral red lipstick sample and sachet of Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil.

The last samples in the box include this little sample of the Zuii Organic Coral Red Lipstick as well as a sachet of the Weleda Birch Cellulite Oil.

This is a cute way to try out a lipstick and from the swatch it is a colour that I will love.

Overall, I have LOVED this summer box.  I really enjoy this subscription from Flora & Fauna and will certainly be renewing my subscription in the new year.

Have a great day!

Flora & Fauna Beauty Box Subscription

My spring Flora & Fauna box arrived in the last fortnight and I have been loving it so I thought that I would share the eco, cruelty-free goodies it contained with you all.

Kosmea Moisturising Lotion and Sunscreen SPF30 (full size)

Kosmea Moisturising Lotion and Sunscreen SPF30 (full size)

I have been wearing the Kosmea Moisturising Lotion for the past week and I really like it.  With summer just around the corner I am looking for face creams with a high SPF so this is perfect.  The cream is beige in colour with a slightly odd smell – I can’t pin point it but it is a little off-putting BUT it doesn’t linger.  Once the cream is rubbed in the smell is gone.  It feels lovely on the face and is really hydrating and it hasn’t triggered my sensitive skin!  This retails for AU$44.50.

Vanessa Megan Darling Perfume (trial size)

Vanessa Megan Darling Perfume (trial size)

Next was the Vanessa Megan Darling Perfume.  I thought this was a great trial size.  The smell is spicy and warm with a hint of flora scents.  It is slightly ‘herbal’ smelling, but in a good way.  The card says the essential oils in this perfume are known to encourage a positive outlook, dispel tension, stimulate the mind and have aphrodisiac qualities!  Here is hoping 🙂

Eco Tools Spa Moisture Gloves

Eco Tools Spa Moisture Gloves

The third item in the box this season was the Eco Tools spa moisture gloves.  I have never used anything like these before and at first figured that these would sit in my drawer without being touched but I forced myself to give them a go while I slept with a thick, rich moisturiser and I certainly did wake up with very soft, hydrated skin.  I was surprised by the point-at-able change to my skin texture and have used them a number of times since.  The hydration does wear away during the day but the process of wearing these is a nice treat for yourself.

Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream and Weleda Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Hand Cream

Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream and Weleda Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Hand Cream

I haven’t used these foil samples yet but I will be taking them with me on my trip to Japan next week where they will be a handy size in my bag.

Tula Naturals Ultra Nourishing Facial Serum

Tula Naturals Ultra Nourishing Facial Serum

The Tula Naturals Ultra Nourishing Facial Serum is the sixth item in the box and was a very welcome addition.  I use rosehip oil at night time but I am nearly out so this will be my new night moisturiser soon.  This is heavy to be described as a serum.  It contains a combination of hemp, rosehip and macadamia oils.  I have tried it once and it is very rich – perfect to wear at night!  I look forward to trying this out more.

Adorn Cosmetics Natural Loose Illuminiser (trial size)

Adorn Cosmetics Natural Loose Illuminiser (trial size)

The last item in the box was this generous sample of the Adorn Cosmetics Natural Loose Illuminiser.  The colour looks quite champagne in the pot but as you can see from the swatch it is quite a bright, gold on the skin.  If this is too dark for highlighting my cheeks it will be stunning as an inner-corner highlight for the eyes.  Again, I haven’t tried this yet but it is in my cosmetics bag to take on holidays.  I love highlighter so I was really excited to see this!

By my very loose calculations this box was worth about $73 which is fantastic value for money and it offers such a great opportunity to try really good quality products without committing to the cost of paying for a full size upfront.

I thought this was an excellent box.  I really do love these seasonal beauty boxes from Flora & Fauna.  You can purchase a single box for $29.99 plus shipping or you can pay for four seasons for AU$119.99 and the shipping is free.  If you would like to check out this subscription box for yourself you can find the website here.

Have a fantastic day!

Flora & Fauna Beauty Box Subscription

Flora & Fauna are an Australian company right up my alley.  They describe themselves as ‘the natural boutique’ and their subscription service promises to deliver natural, cruelty-free beauty boxes to your door each season.  The boxes sell for AU$29.99 plus shipping per quarter or you can purchase all four seasons for AU$119.99 and get the shipping free!  This seemed like a great option to me and I have had two boxes so far – autumn and most recently the winter box.  The cruelty-free beauty market is obviously more narrow so I am so excited to have a beauty box that allows me to try new products, offers really great value for money and is cruelty-free!  Bonus!!

I have loved these boxes so far so I thought I would share this season’s winter box with you so you can see the great items I got.

Flora & Fauna Winter Beauty Box 2015

Flora & Fauna Winter Beauty Box 2015

This box came with three full size items, one deluxe sample and four sachet samples.  I only received this within the last week and I am already super impressed.  The big ticket item this month was a Tanorganic self tanning oil which sells for AU$42.50.  This product alone covers the cost of the box.  This is a really beautifully packaged product: the bottle is glass with a wooden lid.  I haven’t tried it yet but a vegan tanning oil sounds extremely interesting and all the reviews I have read have been great!

The next item that caught my attention was the Hurraw! vegan lip balm.  I love this brand and was the proud owner of one of these balms in black cherry until one of my beloved puppies decided that they loved it too and ate the whole thing…  I was deeply distressed, but the silver lining was that my Shitzu smelt of cherries 🙂

Hurraw! Vegan lip balm: RRP $6.99

Hurraw! Vegan lip balm: RRP $6.99

This scent in tangerine and chamomile is to die for.  I have worn this every day since I received it and it is bliss.

Safix foot and body care scrub pad: RRP $3.95

Safix foot and body care scrub pad: RRP $3.95

I am yet to try this Safix foot and body care scrub pad but I totally love the look of it.  For some reason this kind of natural fibre scrub really appeals to me. I have something very similar on the go at the moment but I look forward to giving this a go soon.

Weleda pomegranate firming night cream (tester): RRP $41.95 for 30ml

Weleda pomegranate firming night cream (tester): RRP $41.95 for 30ml

The last product of interest is the Weleda pomegranate firming night cream.  At just under 7mls this is a generous sample with an approximate value around AU$9.  I have used this cream and it is thick, creamy and very moisturising.  I obviously can’t talk to the long-term use of this cream, but I am enjoying it so far.

Samples of Weleda wild rose body lotion, Neal's Yard Remedies wild rose beauty balm, Nourish Naturals dry skin lotion and anti-itch soothing cream.

Samples of Weleda wild rose body lotion, Neal’s Yard Remedies wild rose beauty balm, Nourish Naturals dry skin lotion and anti-itch soothing cream.

Finally, the box included a selection of sachet samples.  Generally I don’t include sachets as part of the value of the box but I did use the Weleda wild rose body lotion after my shower last night and it was really beautiful.  The rose sent was strong but I loved it.

I really loved this winter box from Flora & Fauna.  I feel like they really nailed the season by providing a scrub, lip balm and rich cream to address dry skin and a tanning oil to save us from glowing, white legs.  With a total value around the AU$63 mark I think this box was great value for money and an awesome way to get introduced to new cruelty-free beauty products.  If you would like to check this beauty box out for yourself you can find them here: Flora and Fauna

Have a wonderful day!
