Makeup Revolution – I Heart Makeup: Chocolate Love

My addiction to the I Heart Makeup chocolate palettes continues.

Did I need another palette?  No!  (honestly, I don’t need another palette for the rest of my life), but I just love collecting these chocolate bars from TAM beauty.

This pink beauty is called the Chocolate Love palette it is a dupe of the Too Faced, Chocolate BonBons palette.  I don’t own that palette to do a comparison for you, but they are certainly extremely similar to look at.

Of all the chocolate palettes I Heart Makeup have released, Chocolate Love was the one I didn’t think I would get much use out of.  For some reason I found the bright pink shade really off-putting, but actually I have very much enjoyed this since I purchased it.

I think the key to me falling in love with this colour selection was covering up that bright pink.  It is SO not my colour and it distracts me from all the truely beautiful shades that this palette does contain.  If you can ignore that pink, this is actually a neutral lover’s dream!

Unlike the Too Faced palette, the Chocolate Love palette has a large pan of a really lovely mid-toned, matte mauve/brown which is my PERFECT crease shade.  I love that this is in a large pan as I use it nearly every time I use this palette.

The quality of these shadows is really nice.  I very much enjoy the matte and satin formula shades as I find these easiest to work with.  The very shimmery, metallic shades can be a little tricky to pick up on the brush as they are extremely buttery and there is almost too much mineral oil in them.  I find that I either have to dig quite firmly with my brush or use my finger for best results, but you can’t fault the pigmentation!  Also, the shades Whipped and Candy are a little flakey, but I find that they are still workable, particularly with some fixing spray.

This palette has been a pleasant surprise for me.  I have enjoyed the colour selection more than I thought and have particularly appreciated the large pan of my favourite crease shade!

If you would like to check out the I Heart Makeup Chocolate palettes for yourself you can find them on the TAM beauty website which ships internationally.  You can find reviews and swatches of the I Heart Makeup chocolate palette range here on my blog 🙂

Have a wonderful day!

P.S.  this palette does have a sweet, faintly chocolatey smell 🙂
