This is the first product I have tried from Physician’s Formula. They are cruelty-free and you can find them on the PETA list. We can buy them at Priceline in Australia but they are much cheaper to buy online from iHerb. Saying that, Physician’s Formula is quite expensive for a ‘chemist’ sold brand so I am not convinced they are budget-friendly BUT I certainly would recommend the Shimmer Strips, even for the more expensive price.
I was attracted to this little palette as it claimed to be an all-in-1 system for the face and eyes. The packaging is sturdy cardboard with a lace design in gold and black. The palette opens with a magnetic closure at the front and the back. The front contains the shimmer strip products and the back contains a face brush, eye sponge tip applicator, mirror and instruction suggestion sheet.
Physician’s Formula has broken this palette into four rows and suggests that row 1 be used to highlight, row 2 as blush and row 3 and 4 be used as bronzer. They have also broken down the rows with suggestions for use on the eyes.
I haven’t really tried to use this product as a bronzer but the top two rows really does make a stunning highlighter which can shift more champagne or pink depending on where you direct your brush. I have tried to use the pinks as blush but they aren’t really pigmented enough to work that way for me.
The powders are so soft, finely milled and easy to blend. They do make a lovely subtle eye look and I have used them that way often on quick makeup days where I put some matte bronzer in the crease and then a selections of these shades on the lid and outer V. For this reason I do think the palette is very versatile.
If you are looking for a truly beautiful highlighter which has the flexibility to take on many tones depending on your mood and enough pigmentation variation to make a pretty eye look too – then I can totally recommend the Shimmer Strips – Warm Nude palette.
Have a fantastic day 🙂
