Well my friends. The final day is here. No sad words. It has been fun, but it is time for the final hurrah before we move on to the next adventure 😉 Welcome to day 7, the final instalment of my MR Salvation Series – 7 palettes in 7 days and we are going to round up this series with the ‘Unicorns Unite’ palette.
DAY 7: Unicorns Unite
I thought it would be good to finish up this Salvation series with a bit of a bright, colourful bang. The ‘Unicorns Unite’ palette is definitely the most colourful Salvation palette that I own and to be honest, most of these colours are outside of my comfort zone. The outer packaging of this palette is extremely cute – that purple card is extremely flash!
The quality of these shadows is on par with all the Salvation palettes I have tried – very soft, pigmented and they blend well. The colours here are certainly in keeping with the unicorn theme but I am disappointed to report that a number of the colours are very similar. More on that below.
On the left of the palette we have two of the stand-out colours for me in this palette which are ‘medieval’ (swatch 3) which is a really metallic, copper colour and then ‘spiral’ (swatch 4) which is a really beautiful blue. I love ‘spiral’ on the lower lash line to make my blue eyes pop a bit.
The right of the palette offers a black, gold glitter shade (‘creature’ – swatch 6) as well as the standard mattes and shimmers. ‘Symbol’ (swatch 3) is a very metallic silver, but the stand out colour for me here is ‘spiritual’ (swatch 5) which is a lovely lavender colour. I really enjoy ‘spiritual’ all over the lid.
My only issue with the ‘Unicorns Unite’ palette is that there are a number of colours in the palette that are extremely similar. In particular ‘Believe’ (5th shadow, top row) and ‘Fortune’ (2nd shadow, 2nd row) are almost identical shades of purple. The slight difference lies in the reflective colour which in ‘Fortune’ is dark purple and in ‘Believe’ is pink.
The other two colours that are very similar are ‘Fantasy’ (shade 3, 2nd row) and ‘Beauty’ (shade 4, 2nd row) which are both green eyeshadows. ‘Fantasy’ is more of a satin formula and ‘Beauty’ is more of a shimmer formula but the tones of the colours are indistinguishable on the eye.
Perhaps as I am not a makeup artist I am missing something here, but I would consider this kind of double up a bit of a waste.
So, that is ‘Unicorns Unite.’ This is a very unique palette and I do like the selection of colours even though there are a couple of double-ups. This palette is certainly a lot of fun.
Plus, I am all about unicorns.
Well, that brings my MR Salvation Series – 7 palettes in 7 days to an end. If you have followed along with me this week – thank you! If you haven’t read the rest of the posts from this series, I encourage you to do so.

It really is pretty. I have done some lovely looks with these colours and they can be quite wearable which is a surprise to me as they are outside of my comfort zone. It is nice to try new things!
