MR Salvation Series – 7 palettes in 7 days: ‘Girl Panic’

Welcome to day three of my MR Salvation Series – 7 palettes in 7 days.  If you haven’t read the first two blogs in this series I recommend you go and take a look 🙂

DAY 3: Girl Panic

‘Girl Panic’ was the second salvation palette that I ordered after falling in love with its soft pinky and coopery goodness.  The other thing that really drew me to this palette is that it DOESN’T have a black matte shade.  I am not a great wearer of black, smokey eye looks so it was nice to see some softer matte colours on offer here.

As per my other MR Salvation Series blogs, I am going to cut the palette in half vertically for review.

Swatches: Panic on the street, by invitation, going on to somewhere, girlfriend, chelsea mayhem, random, going under, let it happen and naked through.

The left side of the ‘Girl Panic’ palette offers some light pink and peachy tones plus a delicious cooper shade called ‘random’ (swatch 6) and a pretty rose gold called ‘Chelsea Mayhem’ (swatch 5).  The matte shades on the left side of the palette are a bit too similar for me.  Even though the swatches haven’t shown up that well in the picture as they match my skin-tone too well, you can see a slight difference in tone, but for me I would have preferred a greater selection of matte colours here.

The right side of the palette is a bit more colourful.  I love the mattes on this side of the palette, particularly the last purple-toned shade called ‘clever words’.  They are soft and pigmented and blend so well.  Looking at the six shimmer shades on this side of the palette, the pinky theme continues with the very pretty ‘I am beaten’ shade (swatch 1) , and ‘voiced in my head’ (swatch 2) which works really well dabbed in the centre of the eyelid to give a bit of dimension to the eye.

Across the ‘Girl Panic’ palette there are a few shades that are a satin formula and then others that are more shimmery and I like that variety very much.  Even though this palette does look quite pink-tone at first glance (which is compounded by the outer packaging which is a bright pink box), the looks I have made from this have varied from soft pink and girly, to warm, chocolatey and bronzy in style.  I really think the colour selection of ‘Girl Panic’ is unique while remaining wearable for every day.

I love this palette and it would be one of my top pics from the Salvation series.

So, that is ‘Girl Panic’ 🙂  You can find this palette at Makeup Revolution if you want to check it out for yourself.
