I was extremely excited to try the newest cruelty-free, budget-friendly makeup brand to come out of the Uk – Freedom Makeup London. Freedom are a sister brand to my favourite makeup brand, Makeup Revolution, with the additional aim of providing professional makeup artists (of which I am definitely not one) with good quality, affordable makeup for their kit. I did a small haul when they launched a few weeks ago and I am excited to show you some swatches of a couple of the Pro 12 Eyeshadow Palettes.
I ordered two of the Pro 12 palettes in ‘Romance and Jewels’ and ‘Secret Rose’. ‘Romance and Jewels’ is extremely well named – these shadows are ALL glittery shades. My first impression was that these shadows are a little bit crumbly (due to the glitter I think), but as you can see in the swatches they are very pigmented and extremely pretty. I particularly like the green/grey shade in the second row (swatch 7). Generally the texture of these is quite soft and I found they blended well. The only two shades that I was a bit disappointed with in terms of texture are the last two shades: the deep blue and the black (swatches 11 and 12 below). These felt more chalky to the touch and apply quite patchy compared to the others. Saying that, for me, these are the two colours I am least likely to use anyway so I still think it is a gorgeous palette.
The ‘Secret Rose’ is the real gem here for me though. This palette is a blend of finishes in soft pinks and taupes. The swatch photo above really doesn’t do these shadows justice. There are three satin shadows, three glittery shadows and six matte shadows. These are all very soft and blend beautifully. The matte shadows in particular are extremely silky to the touch and are very pigmented. These are some of the nicest quality matte shadows I have used! I also have to give the apricot/gold satin colour (1st shade, 2nd row of the palette – swatch 5) a mention as it is such a beautiful colour. It is almost duo-chrome, extremely pretty and it goes so well with the pink shades. I love it.
My first impression of these Freedom Makeup London Pro 12 eyeshadow palettes is really good. The colour selections of these two palettes are lovely and I think the ‘Secret Rose’ palette provides all the matte colours you might want to complement the ‘Romance and Jewels’ palette if you, like me, prefer to use a matte colour as your transition colour. I personally prefer the satin and matte formula over the glittery formula, but that is just my personal preference. Overall, I am impressed and have already added two more palettes from this range to my wish list! If you would like to try out one of these Pro 12 eyeshadow palettes for yourself you can find them here at Freedom Makeup London as well as the rest of their exciting new range.
Have a wonderful day 🙂
