Flora & Fauna are an Australian company right up my alley. They describe themselves as ‘the natural boutique’ and their subscription service promises to deliver natural, cruelty-free beauty boxes to your door each season. The boxes sell for AU$29.99 plus shipping per quarter or you can purchase all four seasons for AU$119.99 and get the shipping free! This seemed like a great option to me and I have had two boxes so far – autumn and most recently the winter box. The cruelty-free beauty market is obviously more narrow so I am so excited to have a beauty box that allows me to try new products, offers really great value for money and is cruelty-free! Bonus!!
I have loved these boxes so far so I thought I would share this season’s winter box with you so you can see the great items I got.
This box came with three full size items, one deluxe sample and four sachet samples. I only received this within the last week and I am already super impressed. The big ticket item this month was a Tanorganic self tanning oil which sells for AU$42.50. This product alone covers the cost of the box. This is a really beautifully packaged product: the bottle is glass with a wooden lid. I haven’t tried it yet but a vegan tanning oil sounds extremely interesting and all the reviews I have read have been great!
The next item that caught my attention was the Hurraw! vegan lip balm. I love this brand and was the proud owner of one of these balms in black cherry until one of my beloved puppies decided that they loved it too and ate the whole thing… I was deeply distressed, but the silver lining was that my Shitzu smelt of cherries 🙂
This scent in tangerine and chamomile is to die for. I have worn this every day since I received it and it is bliss.
I am yet to try this Safix foot and body care scrub pad but I totally love the look of it. For some reason this kind of natural fibre scrub really appeals to me. I have something very similar on the go at the moment but I look forward to giving this a go soon.
The last product of interest is the Weleda pomegranate firming night cream. At just under 7mls this is a generous sample with an approximate value around AU$9. I have used this cream and it is thick, creamy and very moisturising. I obviously can’t talk to the long-term use of this cream, but I am enjoying it so far.
Finally, the box included a selection of sachet samples. Generally I don’t include sachets as part of the value of the box but I did use the Weleda wild rose body lotion after my shower last night and it was really beautiful. The rose sent was strong but I loved it.
I really loved this winter box from Flora & Fauna. I feel like they really nailed the season by providing a scrub, lip balm and rich cream to address dry skin and a tanning oil to save us from glowing, white legs. With a total value around the AU$63 mark I think this box was great value for money and an awesome way to get introduced to new cruelty-free beauty products. Have a wonderful day!
