I think I am a little in love with highlighter. For the longest time I really had no idea about this kind of product and now suddenly I own entire collections! These particular little beauties are from the I Heart Makeup range from Makeup Revolution. They come in these very sweet cardboard, heart-shaped boxes which are lovely on display. They are suitably budget-friendly, great quality as well as being cruelty-free!
The current range (as of May 2015) includes three colours: Golden Goddess, Goddess of Love and Goddess of Faith.
Golden Goddess is a yellow gold highlighter. It is silky and pigmented and would probably look best on tanned or darker complexions but I still wear this on my fair, freckled skin and I think it looks lovely with rich, warm coloured eye makeup and a neutral lipstick.
The next colour in the Goddess of Love collection is… Goddess of Love.
This highlighter is probably the least pigmented of the three and doesn’t seem as silky to the touch. It is lightly more work to pick up the powder on your brush but I don’t mind this as it avoids me getting heavy handed and looking like a shimmer-ball.
The colour is pale pink with a brighter blue-toned pink that comes through when it hits the light. It is super pretty. I feel like Goddess of Love and Goddess of Faith look quite similar in the pan, but as you will see they do swatch quite differently on the skin.
Last but not least is my favourite of the bunch and it is called Goddess of Faith.
Goddess of Faith is a really beautiful highlighter and I feel it suits my fair skin really well giving it a lovely glow. As you can see on my finger above – just one swipe across this powder gives great pigmentation payoff!
The colour is peachy in tone, almost a rose gold. I don’t have anything else like this shade in my (modest) collection and it is just stunning.
Overall, I really enjoy these highlighters. They look beautiful on the cheeks, the pigmentation is great and I find that they last all day – particularly if I use a makeup fixing spray. Although they have a wonderful glow and shimmer they aren’t filled with glitter particles – which I love! If you are looking for a more natural highlight these guys may pack a bit too much punch for you but for those of us looking for more of a definite glow I think these are lovely.
