Makeup Revolution is a budget-friendly, cruelty-free brand based in the UK. They ship internationally which is good news for those of us in Australia and shipping is pretty reasonable. In relation to Makeup Revolution’s cruelty-free status they have confirmed that they do not test their finished products, nor ingredients on animals and neither do third parties. They are not owned by a parent company and they do not sell in China! That gives them a great big tick from me!! For those of you who may be vegan, they do not currently identify products as being vegan friendly but there is an ingredients page on their website so you could check if the products you are interested in buying contain any animal derived ingredients.
Today I want to review the Blushing Hearts Triple Baked Blusher from the I Heart Makeup range from Makeup Revolution.
There are currently six colours in the blush range and each blush is made up of three separate colours which you could use separately or swirl together. These blushes look very similar to the Sweethearts Perfect Flush Blush by Too Faced. If you are looking for a dupe I would suggest that Peachy Keen Heart, Blushing Heart and Candy Queen of Hearts from Makeup Revolution look very much like the images of the Sweethearts blushes from Too Faced that I have seen online, but I don’t own the Too Faced blushes to do an exact comparison for you.
I am going to go through each of these blushes individually for you and then I will give you a comparison of the six blush colours by swirling their three colours together and swatching them side by side.
Peachy Pink Kisses is a combination of peach, pink and apricot tones. These blushes are all soft and pigmented. Although it is very frosty I have worn this one alone as a blush and it looked really pretty but I think many people would enjoy this as a highlighter.
Bursting with Love is a combination of bright, muted and light pinks. There are two blushes in this range that offer a selection of pinks but this is the lighter of the two. Again, very pigmented and shimmery without being glittery. Great on its own without a highlighter.
Iced Hearts is a combination of gold, peach and bronze/rose gold tones. Again, I do love this on its own as a frosty blush, but it is also a beautiful highlighter.
Candy Queen of Hearts is a combination of a rose, coral and bright pink tones. This is a really nice everyday blush colour and gives a very natural flush on the cheeks.
Blushing Heart is the second blush with a purely pink selection of colours but this is definitely the darker, brighter version. This is also one of the only blushes in this range that seems to have glitter in it. You can only just notice but the brightest pink has silver glitter particles evident in the swatch above. I tend to brush these off the face when I wear this as I am not really into glitter but it is pretty manageable.
Last but not least is Peachy Keen Heart. This is my favourite blush in this range and it offers peachy, cooper and rose tones. This is the second blush where I notice some glitter which is golden and predominantly in the cooper shade (swatch on far right above). I don’t notice the glitter once I have blended it out on the face. It looks really beautiful on the cheeks but it is very pigmented so tap off the excess on your brush and use a light hand when applying.

Swirled swatches in natural light. From left to right Peachy Pink Kisses, Bursting with Love, Iced Hearts, Candy Queen of Hearts, Blushing Heart and Peachy Keen Heart.

Swirled swatches in full sunlight. From left to right Peachy Keen Heart, Blushing Heart, Candy Queen of Hearts, Iced Hearts, Bursting with Love and Peachy Pink Kisses.
The swatches above show you what the colours look like for each blush when they are swirled together. I tend not to use these blushes as their individual colours but rather just swirl my brush around and apply to the cheeks. Overall these are very nice quality, pigmented and silky baked blushes. The packaging is SUPER cute, if not a little bulky and they give a really lovely frosted glow. I think these work extremely well without a highlighter but if you are into matte blush then these are definitely not for you.
Do you need them all? Probably not as some of the colours are quite similar. Would I judge you if you bought them all anyway… absolutely not!
I am not affiliated with Makeup Revolution and all the products shown here were purchased with my own money, but if you would like to have a look at these blushes for yourself then you can find them here: Blushing Hearts
Have a great day!
